Look at this 1CS; an animated version of Where The Wild Things Are - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aw0_f9xLHfo .
Try and watch it without the sound on, can you remember any of the words?
Enjoy making a boat for Max for homework and have a lovely half term holiday.
Here are a few links to games and activities we have used in class to support our taking away work this week. The children really loved playing them in class, I hope they enjoy them at home too!

Homework this weekend is to think about your journey from home to school and to have a go at making a map of the journey. We loved looking at google maps and using the street view tool to 'walk' around the local area.
If you have access to the internet at home the children would love to continue this.
Have a lovely long weekend!
Happy Easter 1CS!

The children have brought home two homework sheets today. One to practice handwriting - instructions are on the sheet. The other is writing sentences about little red riding hood. If your child wants to you can just plan the sentences verbally and a grown up could write them down. You could colour the picture in too. We will be carrying on our work on traditional tales for the next two weeks so any reading and talking about fairy tales would be great.
Have a lovely weekend 1CS!
Cinderella's Ball was a great success on Thursday afternoon. The princess and princess were keen to dance with each other and enjoyed their feast! It really helped us understand the story of Cinderella. Thank you to everyone who sent costumes in and a big thank you to our special visitors; the Queen of Arnot Street and her jester, the King of the Kingdom of St Mary and the Princess who didn't tell us which kingdom she was visiting from! Sorry some of the pictures are on their sides - I'll get them the right way round next time!
Keep an eye on our page to keep you up to date with things that are happening in 1CS.
If you've any ideas about what you would like to see on the page let us know!
To end our Amazing Me theme this half term we would like to finish with a talent show. Children who would like to take part and show their talent, be it singing, dancing, drawing or telling a joke could practise this in preparation for the talent show on Friday.
We have enjoyed learning about shape in 1CS this week - the children loved playing the game linked to below, we used it to identify 2D shapes looking at the number of sides and corners we could spot! Hope you have fun using it at home!
