This week Year 2 have been working with recycled textile artist Tina to make food for a healthy picnic basket (with some tasty treats too!) They had a fantastic time and really showed their creative skills.
We have also visited Tesco this week as part of our Ready Steady Cook topic. The children had the chance to work on the tills and visit the bakery where they sugared dougnuts! We were also given lots of fruit to bring back into school to make our rainbow fruit cups.
With all the fruit we were given from Tesco we then made rainbow fruit cups to link with our literacy topic of instructions. As you can see they had a great time - particularly eating them later!
Have a look at these websites for The Great Fire of London facts and games.
In Science we have been looking at materials.
This week we made jelly to learn about solids and liquids. We know that the jelly started as a solid and when we added hot water it melted and turned into a liquid. Then we put it into the fridge and it turned back into a solid!
