Spring one Learning Challenge topic launch
A visit from a Greek Warrior
During our Learning Challenge question 'Where in the World?' We explored the continent of North America, focusing on the USA.
Jackson Pollock was born in the USA. Abstract art by Jackson Pollock inspired us to paint using his techniques. The techniques he used are commonly known as 'drip art' or 'action art'. We explored movement and expression, painting with dried paint brushes, sticks, wool and plastic cups.

We took part in a drumming workshop developing our musical talents!
This half term our Learning Challenge will be
'Where in the world?' We will explore the seven continents and stop at North America, learning about it's geographical features.
We have been learning about performance poetry in preparation for our visit to see Michael Rosen perform at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool.
We recited his poem 'I know someone', we hope he performs this during his road show!
We visited Calderstones Park, as it is the only place in England to hold stones from a burial chamber. We had the opportunity to touch and explore the stones; which date back from the Stone Age. We are now able to answer our learning challenge question....
What can our city tell us about the Stone Age?
