Our teacher is Mr Stamper and our teaching assistant is Mrs Newall. Together they help us to learn lots of new and exciting skills in all areas of school life!
Wisdom - Using our own knowledge and experiences to make the right choices in life
In our English lessons at the moment, we are learning lots from an explanation text about Tutankhamen! We will be writing our very own explanation texts about him soon.
We also read every day, and we try our best to read at home too! Please help us to get lots of reading done outside of school, so that our reading skills get better and better!
After lunch, every day, we spend some time practising our joined up handwriting, and our spellings. Please help your child to practice their spellings every day!
In maths, we are currently learning new methods for our calculations. We've been using:
Please encourage your child to practice these methods whenever possible, and also to practice their mental arithmetic at every opportunity (e.g. Whilst out shopping!!)
In our science lessons this term we are learning about plants. Each table has its own potted plants that they are responsible for. Over the coming weeks we will be performing lots of experiments on our plants to get a better understanding of how they work!
'Who was Tutankhamen's Mummy?'
Year 3 have been absolutely thrilled by this Learning Challenge so far, and have already discovered lots of exciting things about Ancient Egypt. We will be visiting the museum and looking at how the Egyptians used to live, as well as trying our hand at some Egyptian art!
We recently competed in our school-wide baking competition, organised by our fabulous catering Crew, and judged by our very own Mary Berry (Mrs Roper)! Unfortunately, 3PS didn't win, but we had loads of fun dressing in our baking gear, mixing the ingredients for the cake, decorating it in class, and of course, eating it!! You can find some photos of us making our cake below, as well as a special video of us decorating it! Can you guess who's face we put on it??
