We have been working really hard in our English lessons completing work about Little Red Hen. On Monday we came into our class to find Little Red Hen had written us a letter with instructions. She needed our help to plant cress seeds. We have created an instruction map with pictures and actions to help us remember all of them in the correct order.
Below is a video of 1JQ performing it! What superstars!!

Year 1 Dinosaur Day.
To kick start our new topic, which is called Dinosaur Planet, we had a special visitor today. A reptile man came to visit us and brought with him lots of special friends including a 12ft python, bearded dragon lizards, a corn snake and a European eagle owl along with some other animals. This was a fantastic experience for the children with an opportunity to learn about the animals including how they live and what they like to eat. The children were also able to stroke the animals which was very brave as Mrs Quantick was a bit of a 'scaredy cat.' I hope the children found it as interesting as I did. We will now continue some work on reptiles this week especially in English. Please enjoy looking at some of our photographs.
