Alien Crash Landing!

Something very exciting happened to Year 1. A letter was written to us by an alien explaining how he had landed his spaceship in our school and didn’t know where he was. He asked us to find his jewels for him and write back explaining all about planet Earth. We were all so excited to go into the garden and find the jewels. We even found his spaceship which had crashed into the tree. It was an exciting way to start off our Moon Zoom topic.

We then explored space through virtual reality! We could see all the planets and the huge sun!

Welcome back!

I hope you have had a lovely Christmas break and a very happy new year!

This half term our new topic is Moon Zoom! We will be learning lots about space and the 8 planets and even making our own rockets!

Year 1 Dinosaur Day.

To kick start our new topic, Dinosaur Planet, we had a special visitor today. A reptile man came to visit us and brought with him lots of special friends including a 12ft python, bearded dragons, lizards, a corn snake and a European eagle owl along with some other animals. This was a fantastic experience for the children with an opportunity to learn about the animals including how they live and what they like to eat.  We will now continue some work on reptiles this week especially in English. Please enjoy looking at some of our photographs!

Welcome to year 1!
