Over the next few weeks, the children are going to be becoming mini geologists. They will have the opportunity to study properties of rocks, so we will be encouraging them to look for rocks in their local environment to study and record.
This term children will discover the dangerous and ferocious world of natural disasters and take a look at their deadly effects. They will find out about the ancient city of Pompeii while experiencing erupting volcanoes and discovering properties of rock shaped by the Earth's breathtaking power!
We've had an exciting day!
We've had a visit from Scott, the animal handler! We've held bearded dragons, corn snakes, a burmese python and a barn owl. The children have really enjoyed themselves and should be proud of their excellent behaviour during the session!
Well done year 3!
Will Arnot St Mary produce the next Beth Tweddle or Louis Smith?
We will soon find out when year 3 begin their gymnastic sessions with a specialist coach.
We have had a great start to the new school year and the children have settled in well to their new classes. This half term our imaginative learning project is called ’Scrumdiddlyumptious’. This will be a Design and Technology focused topic and there will be lots of exciting learning opportunities for the children!
Already the children have been on a hunt for chocolate bars around our playground and guess what they found as they opened them... golden tickets!
These special tickets will take them on an exciting trip later in the term. They have been warned that they will need a sweet tooth!!
