We have had a busy week for sport and health week. Each class has worked hard to include lots of activities about keeping clean, healthy, fit and active.
We have looked at dental hygiene, mental health, looking after ourselves with our diet, how to stay active and exercise.
We also had an Enterprise day which was very successful. The children made various items to sell such as smoothies, fruit cups, rainbow jelly and fresh jam.
Sports day ended our week and all children from Rec-Year 6 took part. Nursery will have their own sports day next week.
Below are pictures of different classes in their PE lessons with either Coach Goodhall or their own class teachers. Take a look at how much fun the children are having.
In Arnot St Mary, we are very lucky to have extremely talented children who we like to take to sports competitions across Liverpool. Below are some pictures of competitions that we have taken part in, and the results. Well done to everyone!
We aim to offer as many different after school clubs as we can for all of our children. Coach Goodhall leads a lot of sports clubs and we also have a dance and a gymnastics club provided by our specialist coaches. We want as many of our children to come to the clubs as we can possibly get. Below are some pictures from our clubs.
Key Stage 2 children will go swimming at different stages during the year along with top up swimming in Year 6.
You will find a timetable link below which identifies when children will be attending swimming lessons.
Swimming is a compulsory element of the PE Curriculum. Children must be able to swim 25 metres before they finish school in year 6.
Within our school, PE lessons and after-school clubs provide all of our students with the opportunity to develop themselves holistically by embedding the principles of SMSC in their learning journey. We have created a document below which outlines how PE in our school helps to develop your child in each different area of SMSC.
We offer 2 hours of PE and School Sport each week along with extra curricular activities, lunch time activities and rise and shine dance sessions during the morning. We have mapped out the curriculum so that children are taught a games lesson by our specialist sports coach and a second lesson is taught by the class teacher.
We have also organised for specialist dance, gymnastics and cricket coaches to deliver lessons during the year.
Week beginning 27th June is our school sport and health week which includes the children participating in yoga, team building games and sports day!
