Thank you for a fantastic year in Reception. Miss Stackpoole and Miss Carter wish you lots of luck in Year One! xxx
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our bike day. It was a huge success and well done to all the children. Riding without stabilisers isn't as easy as it looks!
The children really enjoyed learning all about pirates from our visitor Captain Burwash! Thank you to all the parents for getting the children ready in their pirate fancy dress, they all looked fantastic!
As you may have heard, Captain Hook has been up to mischief in our class this week. First he stole our treasure chest and our Pirates Love Underpants book, and now he's teasing us with messages and clues left in bottles! However, we are made of tough stuff in Reception and we decided to write back to him to demand our things back!
Welcome to the final term of Reception! This term the children are learning all about Pirates! They have been focussing on the story 'Pirates Love Underpants' by Clare Freedman. We have been very busy transforming our classroom into a Pirate Zone and the children have enjoyed making eye patches, pirate hats and telescopes etc. Thank you to everyone who has been helping their child to complete the homework tasks! The children have really enjoyed showing their friends their creations from home.
As the children have been learning all about nocturnal animals we decided to have our very own nocturnal day! We have enjoyed listening to the story 'Owl Babies' by Martin Waddell. We even had a special visit from owls and even wore our pyjamas! We had lots of fun.....
Thank you to everyone who took part in the fantastic Easter Egg competition. After A LOT of deliberation Mrs Roper finally managed to choose 3 winners! Well done Jake, Louie and Olivia.
Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your break!
During this half term the children will be focussing on the learning challenge question 'What changes happen in Spring?'. We will be looking closely at growth and new life. Children will be planting their very own seeds and watching them grow. We will be listening to lots of stories all about Spring for example Jack and the Beanstalk, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Oliver's Vegetables and A seed in need. Here is a link for parents to show you how you can help your child learn about Spring at home.
Keep your eyes peeled on the website for photographs of the children learning all about Spring!
