Week beginning 3rd July 2017- Health and Sports week.
This week we have had lots of fun celebrating Health and Sports! We have taken part in an 'enterprise morning' selling fruit pots with our friends in Year 2!
We have learnt about the importance of eating healthy and doing exercise!
On Friday we had Sports Day. Well done to green team who were the winners.
Here are some pictures from our exciting week in school.
We hope you had an enjoyable and restful Easter break. We have a very busy half term ahead of us! Our Cornerstone topic is 'Why do ladybirds have spots?' Throughout this topic we will be looking closely at minibeasts and their features. We have already spotted lots of minibeasts in our outdoor classroom and have taken a closer look at them using our bug catchers!
Our visit to China Town
Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year!

During maths lessons this half term we will focus on:
Numbers: counting and recognition
Shape, space and measure: size, weight and capacity
Today we were really lucky to have a company in school called Littlefoot HQ. They worked with us to do team building activities and taught us how to work as a group. We used our listening skills and our construction skills to build a tower as tall and strong as possible. Look at our pictures.....
This week we have been using Autumn resources to create fantastic art work inspired by an artist called Andy Goldsworthy. We used leaves to create prints and hedgehog collages!
Thank you to everyone who stayed today to make our 'Breakfast cookery' session such a huge success! We were delighted to see so many of you- and loved reading your comments. These included-
'A fantastic morning! Teachers and staff interacted amazingly with children and parents!'
'A great idea...a good way to get children eating healthy.'
'Wonderful...very useful...friendly staff and different fruit for children to try.'
'An excellent class...lovely seeing all the children enjoying it.'
Thank you to everybody who was able to attend our 'Stay for a Story' session. The children really enjoyed having their parents in to listen to a story and carry out some activities. We are working very hard to have our 'Parents as Partners'. We will have many opportunities for you to come into school and take part in workshops and coffee mornings.
Our next parents session will take part on Tuesday 11th October from 9-10am. This is a cookery session to help your child prepare a healthy snack!
Here are some pictures from our 'Stay for a Story' session.
Thank you to everyone who returned your pupil's voice and parent feedback questionnaires. We have had a lovely time reading all of your positive comments and are looking forward to trying to learn about all of the things the children are interested in- including:
'Learning to read properly .. the weather...animals...dinosaurs...numbers...things that live in the sea...baking'. (We might have to get some special help to do 'back flips' though!)
We hope you have had a lovely break!
If your child is in RES, their class teacher is Miss Stackpoole and their teaching assistants are Miss Carter and Mr Newall.
This half term we will be focussing on the question 'Do you want to be friends?'
We will be carrying out lots of exciting activities learning all about ourselves, our friends and people who help us around school.
Please ensure all of your child's uniform is clearly named ready for the start of term.
PE will take place on a Friday, however PE kits are to stay in school at all times and will be sent home half termly for a freshen up!
Please do not hesitate to ask a member of staff if you have any questions.
