This afternoon, members of our school council had the privilege to meet Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon. The children were able to discuss the issues that our local community face, and how they are a part of shaping what our community looks like going forward. The children proudly explained how our school is an important part of Walton, Liverpool, and that their voices are important in what the future will look like; an inclusive future, where diversity is appreciated and celebrated.

A huge thank you and well done to all our Year 4 children! Today’s Harvest Assembly reminded us of the importance of being grateful for what we have, and sharing with those who have less than us. The children sang, read and danced beautifully. Parents, carers and staff were truly impressed with their confidence and clarity - well done Year 4, we are very proud of you!

Our digger simulator arrived on site today! Children will have the opportunity to “test drive” a variety of commercial machinery, and complete tasks and challenges. In addition to being lots of fun, it is a great opportunity for children to think about what they want to be when they grown up, and the skills they might need. #Aspiration

A reminder to all parents and carers: Tuesday 20th October is school photo day. All children will have their photograph taken on Tuesday. Arrangements are also in place for sibling photos to take place.

Some highlights from the Year 6 trip to the Lake District, organised and in collaboration with Best Day Ever. The children have had an amazing time!

Our Year 6 children are having an amazing day at the Lake District! The children are exploring, climbing and enjoy the beautiful scenery. They are also learning about geographical features, discussing weather systems, talking about history, and appreciating the wonder of the countryside. Thank you again to Rob from ‘Best Day Ever’ for such a fun and well-planned trip.

Our Year 6 children are off to the Lake District! Today and tomorrow our Year 6 classes will be heading to ‘The Lakes’ to explore nature, learn about geography and understand more about our beautiful countryside. A huge thanks to Rob from ‘Best Day Ever’ for organising and leading this trip. We hope you all have a fantastic time!

Our first school council meeting of the year. Today we elected a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary and discussed how our meetings will run. We agreed and signed the code of conduct and are raring to go! #resilience #equity #aspiration #love

Today is World Mental Health Day. We want to remind the families in our school community that it is okay not to be okay. Life can at times be very challenging, and in those moments we all need someone to talk to. As a school we do many things to support children’s mental health & wellbeing, and we also have ways of supporting and signposting adults. Thank you for the many generous donations we have received so far. Our Harvest Appeal is an important, as we are able to donate much-needed food to our local food bank. Anyone wishing to drop off items may do so at the main school office. Thank you again for your support and kindness.

On Thursday 15th October we will be holding our Community Event in the school hall. Please come along to meet representatives from housing, health, local groups, charities and other agencies. The event will take place from 9am - 10.30am.

Well done and congratulations to this year’s new librarians! Children across school applied to be librarians, and those chosen will help to oversee our beautiful school library. Each of our librarians received a special badge so that their role is recognised across school.

Today, some of our children had the opportunity to meet artist Madeleine Pires, before she began finishing off this wonderful mural. The children asked some great questions, one of which was about the choice of flower. The buddleia was chosen because it is a flower that flourishes even in the toughest of conditions. This reminded us of one of our core values; resilience. We never give up!
