Salary: Grade 5
Contract: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: 39 weeks per year (Term Time Only)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Arnot St Mary Primary School is seeking an experienced, passionate and committed Early Years professional to lead the development and daily management of our new Pre-School provision for children aged 9 months to 2 years.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to shape a high-quality early years environment that supports children to love learning, thrive and grow in a safe and nurturing setting.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Pre-School, ensuring outstanding standards of teaching, learning and care in line with the EYFS statutory framework. The role includes responsibility for staff leadership, safeguarding, SEND provision, Early Years funding compliance and budget management, as well as leading on Ofsted readiness and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the daily management and strategic development of the Pre-School

Deliver a high-quality Early Years curriculum aligned with the EYFS framework

Line manage and develop the Pre-School staff team

Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the Pre-School

Oversee SEND provision alongside the school SENDCo
-
Ensure compliance with Early Years funding requirements and statutory guidance
-
Manage the Pre-School budget and resources effectively

Promote strong relationships with parents, carers and the wider community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
-
A full and relevant Early Years qualification at Level 5 or 6 (minimum)

Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and safeguarding legislation
-
Significant experience in Early Years leadership or management

Experience of leading and developing staff teams

Experience supporting children with SEND and inclusive practice
-
Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills
